Polar Integration
Track sales from your Polar checkout links.

Polar is an open-source payment platform that lets you sell digital products and software. They’re built specifically for developers who want to monetize without complexity.
You can integrate Polar with Creator Kiwi by signing into your Polar account. We’ll automatically track sales from your Polar checkout links and attribute them to your Creator Kiwi links.
In this guide, we’ll walk through connecting your Polar account to Creator Kiwi and creating a tracked checkout link.
Before we begin
Create a free account on Polar if you haven’t already.
You can create a free account on Creator Kiwi to use this integration.
How does it work?
When someone clicks your tracked checkout link and makes a purchase, we’ll automatically create a new Activity
in Creator Kiwi representing the sale.
We’ll create or update a Person
in Creator Kiwi with the email address of the customer
A Person
acts like a contact in a CRM. You can see how they’ve interacted with your business in the past, such as joining your email list.
After making a purchase from your tracked checkout link, you’ll see a sale activity with the attributed link and associated Publication
(i.e. YouTube video) they came from (if applicable).
1. Enable the integration

Navigate to Settings > Workspace > Integrations > Polar and click the Enable
button.
This will redirect you to the Polar OAuth flow where you’ll need to grant access to Creator Kiwi.
2. Grant access to Creator Kiwi

First, choose the Polar organization you want to connect to Creator Kiwi. We only support a single organization per workspace.
After selecting the organization, Polar will list the scopes that we request access to.
Currently, we request access to the following scopes:
benefits:read
, checkout_links:read
, checkout_links:write
, discounts:read
, metrics:read
, openid
, orders:read
, organizations:read
, payments:read
, refunds:read
, repositories:read
, subscriptions:read
, transactions:read
, user:read
, webhooks:read
, webhooks:write

Webhooks are the primary way we respond to customer events from Polar. We create a webhook endpoint unique to your integration that you can find in Settings > Webhooks inside of Polar.
Make sure you don’t delete this endpoint, otherwise we can’t attribute sales to your links.
We’ve requested read access to some other scopes so we can handle more complicated use cases in the future (such as backfilling customer data).
We request read and write access to checkout links so we can validate the link you provide and fetch information about the associated product.
We don’t directly create Checkout Links in Polar, but their list endpoint requires us to have write access.
3. Create a Checkout Link in Polar

Navigate to Products > Checkout Links and click the + New Link
button or select an existing Checkout Link.

Select the Polar product you want to sell with this link. Currently, we only support one product per link.

Copy the URL of the Checkout Link to your clipboard. You’ll need it in the next step.
4. Create a link in Creator Kiwi

Navigate to Links in Creator Kiwi and click the + New Link
button (or press C
on your keyboard).
Paste the Polar Checkout Link into the Destination URL
field.
We recommend adding a label so you can easily identify it later.
If you plan to share this link in multiple places (e.g. across your site and YouTube videos), enable Save for reuse to quickly recreate it later with separate tracking for each location.
Click the Create Link
button (or press Cmd/Ctrl + Enter
on your keyboard).

You’ll now see your new Polar link on your list of links with the Product name for easy identification.
If you click on the ...
menu, you’ll see an option to Edit in Polar
. Clicking this will open the Checkout Link in your Polar dashboard for you to manage.
That’s it!
Those are all of the required steps to start tracking sales from Polar with Creator Kiwi.

As sales come in, you’ll see them in your Recent Activity section on the dashboard and within each Person
profile.
